This was the first
leg of the Triple Crown for the FBA. We were really happy with our
finish of 3rd, it was only point 2 points from reserve grand champion.
All and all it was a great way to start the season.

was just a bad weekend for us. Everything seemed to turn out good. Oh

Smoke on the Water BBQ Winter Haven, Fl (FBA)

This was the second
leg of the Triple Crown. We had fun all weekend. My friend Thomas
Henry went with me to cook pork & brisket. It didn't turn out like
he wanted but this was one tuff contest. Mike Davis of Lotta Bull BBQ
from Oklahoma was there. He is one of the best in the country in bbq.
That is just one though, this field was full of great bbq cooks. So I
was happy with a finish like that in this field. Plus we are 4th in
Triple Crown points, and currently 10th in FBA points.

The weather at
this contest was real bad with a lot of rain Friday night.
Everything came out good, so I thought. Congrats to my buddy RUB
with Swamp Boys on the Grand Champion.

This weekend,
also the last leg of the Florida Triple Crown, which we made the
FBA BBQ Guru Triple Crown. What a good weekend!! Oh,
except the 50 mph wind all of Saturday. We had our good friend
Bob Parker cooking with us, and as always we had a great time!!!
We liked everything, but I think we found something with the Brisket.
That 2nd place Brisket made the whole weekend better. Also, we
won the Friday night Wings contest for the second time in the past 3
years.

15th Annual Hog Wild Pig Crazy BBQ Cookoff

This is one of
the best weekend I have ever had at a cookoff. Me and my
oldest son JT went down to Lake City on Thursday night and had a great
time together. The finishes weren't bad either. We need to
get more consistent in chicken and ribs and we can win on of these
things!!! Also, we had a 1st place in Friday nights Wings
contest. We have won wings for 3 years straight!!! Looks
like we were right about the Brisket, two top 5 finishes in a row.
Once again, congrats to our good friend RUB with the Swamp Boys on the
Grand!!!
